An ILLMINDED, HOPSIN

A lot has changed for rapper Hopsin this past year. Though he is still very unknown and underrated recently he has added hated to that list. But this was expected. His bizarre style and disrespectful lyrics were sure to gain him a response sooner or later. All the attention Hopsin has been receiving lately makes one wonder if he can use any of it to strengthen his musical career. 

Last week Hopsin was booked to headline a concert at Club 57 West in Orlando. Unfortunately he was arrested fifteen minutes before he was set to hit the stage. Video of the incident was uploaded and submitted to WorldStarHipHip. Angry fans booed and screamed, “Fuck The Police” as the rapper was escorted from the venue. Hopsin later comment on the incident via his Facebook fan page saying, “To all my fans who were let down at the Orlando Florida show 2 nights ago, I apologize and I will make it up in the future…I was arrested by a racist cop FOR NO REASON AT ALL! Once he found out I was Hopsin and saw that all those people were there to see me, he really got the urge to ruin my night and take me away faster.” But the drama didn’t end there.

As if Hopsin didn’t already have enough problems to worry about. The same night as his arrest, Soulja submitted a video to WorldStarHipHop saying, “Fuck Hopsin…that nigga a bitch. I’m boutta drop that Hopsin diss song tonight at 12 o’ clock midnight.” Listeners awaited the diss track but received nothing. Hopsin confronted Soulja Boy via Tinychat about his internet threats. A shaken up Soulja Boys told Hopsin that he would email him the diss track, then quickly retracted his earlier statement saying, “naw look…that was a joke but we need to chop it up doe…real talk.” Joking or not Hopsin was not fazed by Soulja Boy’s bluff, revealing him to be a wangsta – as if we didn’t already know. 

It seems that 27 year old Marcus Hopson is sick and tired of coming in last place in the rap race. His appearance on XXL Magazine’s 2012 Freshmen cover solidified a brighter future for the once struggling MC. In July Hopsin uploaded his fifth installment of “IIL MIND OF HOPSIN” to YouTube, which has already reached over 11,500,000 views. Since leaving “Ruthless Records” life has gotten better for Hopsin who founded his own independent label, “Funk Volume,” and plans to release his third studio album titled “Knock Madness” sometime next year.

Hopsin has matured a great deal in his career – lyrically and financially. He is no longer getting jerked around by label execs. Nor is he struggling to build a fan base. It would be smart for Hopsin use the buzz he has been generating to launch a major tour that will boost upcoming album sales. Hopsin is a rapper that prides himself on not being “commercial” or a sellout. However, he is finally getting the publicity and marketing that he longed for at “Ruthless Records.” Regardless of what Hopsin decided to do I’m certain that his fans will not be disappointed.

Hacker, No Hacking

Remember the time your girlfriend hacked into your Facebook account and saw all those messages you had been trying to keep a secret. Or how about the time someone used your credit card information to make purchases from Macy’s, Amazon, and Best Buy. You felt so sure that this could never happen to you. Yet it did and now you’re stuck wondering, “How did this happen to me?” You blamed yourself for being so careless, saving your password on your PC, or leaving your account logged in and unsupervised.  In actuality it was never your fault. I wasn’t the hackers fault either; he was simply doing his job – hackers hack things. If there is any blame to be placed the bulk of it should fall on the shoulders of the site. In this day and age everything is done digitally. People communicate, work, play, shop, and share via the World Wide Web. As a result, internet security should be beefed up to protect user information.

Sites that contain user information, even if it is just a name, should require all users to create a username and password login. Every site should make it mandatory that both usernames and passwords contain at least one upper case character, one number, and one symbol. Sites should remove the “remember me” option from their page in order to decrease the chances of an unauthorized user simply logging into someone else’s account. Upon login sites should detect if the location of that login attempt matches up with previous one; if it doesn’t then that login attempt should request additional information for the user to proceed. Also the “Forgot Password” option should require more than just an email address to access a user account. Instead it should ask the user multiple personalized questions and for them to identify themselves with a form of ID such as the last four digits of a user’s social security or driver’s license.  Furthermore number of times this option can be used should be limited.  People should be able to remember their passwords, especially the important ones, and if they cannot they should write it down in a safe place. These precautions should prevent most hackers from accessing your account but there needs to be a second level of security to protect a user in the off chance that someone gets past the first level.

If a hacker does get a hold of your password or say you went to the bathroom and forgot to close your account, you should still be protected.  Sites should require users to create a second password, separate from the first one, in order to access personal information within that account such as a user’s bank statements or home address. The same password should also be used to finalize actions or make changes to an account. Sites should be set up so that user information such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, or driver’s license numbers (cookies, cache) are not saved within the site.  Lastly sites should have a timer which monitors user activity. User inactivity for longer than 5 minutes should result in an automatic logout of that account. This second level of security prevents hackers from stealing personal information from an account. It also prevents them from having enough time to have access to an unattended account.

Account security is very important and should be taken more seriously buy banks, social networks, and other online sites as it is very important to their users.  There is too much at risk these days to have such minor security on user accounts. All sites should use all the method I mentioned plus additional methods to ensure users that their accounts are protected. This additional security may be a headache at first but is better than the alternative – being at the mercy of hackers.

Chrome VS. Safari

What is Google Chrome?

Google Chrome is a free, open-source web browser developed by Google. It was released in 2008, and has grown to be one of the most popular browsers today.

When Google decided to make a browser, they wanted to completely rethink the browser, as browsing now is very different from browsing simple text pages. Now we email, shop, pay bills, and run large application in our browsers.

The Safari Browser

In 2003, Apple developed their own browser: Safari.
In April 2005, Safari became the default browser for Mac systems (earlier, Mac systems used Netscape or Internet Explorer as the default browser).
Safari is known for its sleek design and ease of use. Safari is available for Mac and Windows systems.

Now everyone says Google Chrome is the best browser, but what are the Pro's and Con's of both Chrome and Safari?

Chrome

Pros:

 No doubt that Google Chrome is awesome. The browser looks good, and simple. I mean, think about it, you rarely see Google Chrome crashing, right? Almost anyone can use Google Chrome, it is actually fast. Google Chrome also (at times) tries to protect you from getting viruses. I love how when you download files, it's simple and it just appears at the bottom, not like Safari and Firefox with their pop-ups and such. You have a lot of tab control also, and get to open new windows by just dragging the tab out of the tab bar, and you can move around tabs easily.

Cons:

 Google Chrome has a bit reputation for flash games, I'm not sure why, but a lot of other people said it slows down flash, and Firefox is the best for flash games. Other wise, Google Chrome is perfect.

Safari

Pros:
 Safari is one of the most popular mobile browsers, even though it is only on iPhone, iPod, and iPad. It's easy to use on the go, and you can easily switch tabs. 

Cons:
 What I dislike about Safari is that when you download files, a pop-up appears unlike chrome. Safari is not the best but has good tab control, less than google chrome though. It a simple design like Google Chrome, but it's just not the best somehow.

BlueBird Debit Card Review

This debit card is just horrible. Even though this card may have less fees then others, it doesn't work with PayPal. I searched about this and I see that Bluebird lies a lot. Here's a post from a fellow BlueBird user like me.

"The only prepaid card that works with PayPal is a GreenDot card. Or, you can look for sellers who can process cards without PayPal."

  Isn't this bad news for all BlueBird users. Make sure you search before you buy! That's what I should have done.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition

 Minecraft is awesome. We all know this. Almost every 2/15 people I met online Xbox games had Minecraft.
What's more amazing then this is what has been posted.

"Microsoft today announced that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, the console adaptation of the hugely popular PC game developed by Mojang, has broken all previous digital sales records, selling more than any other title in the first 24 hours on Xbox LIVE Arcade."

 This, is truly amazing. But it doesn't exactly mean it's the best game out there. I personally still think Minecraft for PC is way better, which is kind of true. But I know this will go far, and I do hope that they make this for PS3/PS4. What I don't hope is that they make this on Wii or Wii U. I cannot imagine the horror. But Mojang has went from 0 buyers to currently 9,885,088 and 1 more person buying minecraft almost every 1-3 seconds. Almost 10 Million!
